Diving on the Monterey Express, in Monterey, CA - May 20th, 2007
The
complete gallery can be seen
here.

The first dive was
at Hopkins Deep
Visibility was so-so
due to previous storm activity. I was diving solo so I followed the
anchor line to the bottom. Lots of White Metridiums at this site. Also
several different (at least to me) species of Anemones called a
Fish-Eating Urticina. It kind of reminded me of the movie, "Little Shop
of Horrors". :-) I found a few nudibranchs and various other
invertebrates. Not many fish on this dive, but I saw a couple of Surf
Perch, the usual Painted Greenlings, and several small Kelp Bass.

The second dive was
at a site called
Ironing Board
There was some good
Giant Kelp coverage, but pretty dark when I was underneath it.I
saw a lone small Broomtail Grouper (sorry no picture), and
some Crimson Anemones. I also found a nice Blue - Ring Top Snail
and A Huge Sunflower Star with what I believe was a Sea Spider
on it.
