Nick, Victor, and I
were in the water at about 11:30 AM. It was a nice day, not too
hot, with good surface conditions. We had a nice dive in the
kelp beds along the reefs. We kicked out about 50
yards or so and dropped down on the edge of the kelp beds. It
was pretty shallow, so we swam out a little further and finally
got down to about 35 feet. Visibility was limited at only 5
feet, but that's not unusual for Southern California. "You take
what the ocean gives you."
At any rate, we all
had a good dive, and got to interact with a funky Sheep Crab. We also
saw some nudibranchs, anemones, sea stars, rockfish, perch, kelp bass,
and the like. Some people were paragliding down from the cliffs along
Pacific Coast Highway and landing on the beach when we were packing up
our gear after the dive.
