Rancho Palos Verdes dive at Buchanan's Reef - February 16th, 2007

On my 51st birthday, I went for a morning beach dive with buddies Scott and Penny.     It was a beautiful sunny day at Old Marineland, and Scott suggested Buchanan's Reef as a good place to find some nudibranchs. We swam out in the lake calm sea and began a short swim up the coast. Scott put us right on top of the reef! We saw several species of nudibranchs and a huge ling cod (unfortunately he was hiding deep under a rock and I didn't get a shot :-( Penny spotted a beautiful tiny Hopkin's Rose nudibranch and Scott got some nice rockfish pictures with his strobe. It was a fantastic birthday!

The complete gallery can be seen here.
